A Superb Cased Pair of Belt Pistols by Askey of Bedale. With sighted octagonal barrels, signed in full along the top flats, ‘ISAAK ASKEY BEADALE’ colour case hardened breeches profusely engraved box-lock actions decorated with scrolling foliage throughout, cocks decorated en suite, finely chequered walnut butts with engraved oval escutcheons, ‘PGC’ in script, foliate engraved oval butt caps with hinged traps, foliate engraved trigger guards and fitted with captive ramrods, struck with Birmingham proofs: in their original lined and fitted case, complete with bullet mould, loading rod and powder flask, the lid of the box with a reproduction trade label. The exterior of the lid also engraved ‘PGC’ to match the pistols. A very crisp set.
