A German Gorget

A North European Gorget, Circa 1580. Of iron, comprising two main plates hinged together on the left and secured by a stud and keyhole catch to the right, the front plate drawn out to a point and with turned edges at the neck; together with rear gorget plate with turned and roped upper border.
