A 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword
A 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword by Craven. With straight single edged blade with spear point, stamped with Military inspection marks and makers name along the back-edge, steel hilt with pierced circular guard adapted in the field, wooden grip overlaid with leather (wire binding now missing) complete with original steel scabbard with two hanging rings.
Notes:
The back-strap is cut with nine notches (possibly indicating kills).
