A 1796 Light Cavalry Troopers Sword. With plain curved blade, cut with a large fuller running along the back of the blade, the point unusually cut with a clipped end and stamped along the back-edge’ GILL’ and stamped with a Crowned ‘4’, steel stirrup hilt with leather covered wooden grip (wire missing) contained in an original steel scabbard stamped, ‘OSBORN & GUNBY BIRMM’ with two suspension rings. No visible makers name or inspection marks.
