A 12 Bore Flintlock Man Stopper by Proudman, London. With heavy sighted octagonal barrel, engraved ‘LONDON’ along the top-flat and stamped beneath with London proofs, inlaid with single platinum line at breech, tang incorporating rear-sight, border engraved and decorated with foliage, signed, stepped bevelled lock, decorated with a sun-burst near the pan and with geometric patterns at the tail of the lock, cock, a replacement, decorated with foliage, full-stocked in walnut, cut with chequering at the grip and unusual flattened butt, vacant oval escutcheon, steel trigger guard decorated with a stand of arms on the bow and pineapple finial, turned ramrod pipes and captive ramrod.
