A 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Dress Sword. With straight tapering double-edged blade of diamond cross-section, engraved with coat of arms and scrolling foliage, retaining some original gilding, typical gilded boat-shell guard, straight quillons and ‘D’ shaped knuckle bow, ovoid pommel with twisted silver wire bound grip. No scabbard.
