An Interesting Pair of Irish Flintlock Pistols. With sighted octagonal barrels slightly swamped at the muzzle, stamped ‘MULLEY DUBLIN’ along the top-flats, and struck with Irish registration marks, ‘W-X 4603’ and ‘W-X 4604’ (some scattered areas of pitting) border engraved tangs, fitted with standing rear-sights and decorated with stands of arms, signed border engraved locks decorated with a spray of foliage at the tails, cocks decorated with stands of arms, half-stocked in walnut with horn fore-end caps, silver shield-shaped escutcheons with the original owners initials in script, ’T.L.’ (Thomas Lett). Engraved white metal butt caps, engraved steel mounts comprising trigger guards and turned ramrod pipes, original horn tipped ramrods with worms: in what appears to be their original lined and fitted brass mounted case, the interior of the lid with a brass plate engraved ‘Thomas Lett Enniscorthy Cavalry 1796’ complete with all accessories including three-way powder flask, bullet mould etc.
