An India Pattern Flintlock Musket, BrownBess. With round barrel and fore-sight also forming the lug for the bayonet, stamped with Tower of London Private Proofs and crown inspection marks, the barrel also stamped with the barrel makers mark, ‘WF’ plain tang, double border line engraved lock with crowned GR, ordnance inspection mark and ’TOWER’ across the tail, swan-neck cock decorated en suite, figured full-stock (some bumps, bruising and worming commensurate with age) with raised apron around the tang, stamped with military mark on butt and dated 1801, regulation brass mounts including butt plate, engraved ‘HUNTINGDON 20’, trigger guard and ramrod pipes, sling mounts and original steel ramrod.
