An Incredibly Rare Over & Under Pistol by Forsyth & Co. With browned octagonal barrel block, signed on the top flat, ‘FORSYTH & Co PATENT GUNMAKER, LONDON’ the top barrel rifled, the bottom barrel is smooth bore, with single platinum line at the breech, beautifully engraved tang, Forsyth & Co Patent sliding primer locks (second model sliding primer, circa 1820) decorated with sprays of foliage and signed in full, hammers and primer mechanisms decorated en suite, saw-handle half-stock, cut with fine chequering at the grip and vacant oval escutcheon, plain steel butt cap with lanyard ring, stamped ‘WD’ engraved trigger guard, with replacement ramrod.
