An Incredibly Rare 25-Bore 1856 Pattern Percussion Rifled Service Pistol With Detachable Shoulder-Stock, Dated 1859. With leaf-sighted barrel rifled with four grooves, plain tang, flat dated lock stamped with TOWER and with VR crowned on the tail, figured full stock stamped with suppliers name Moxham stamped with numerous War Department and inspectors marks, the butt pierced for shoulder stock and stamped en suite, regulation brass mounts, the butt of the pistol and the butt of the shoulder stock both stamped ELYC 2ND T 14 (East Lothian Yeomanry Cavalry) the shoulder stock with iron attachment mount with sprung catch, iron lanyard ring and stirrup ramrod, Ordnance view and proof marks.
This is one of the best pistols that I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It is in immaculate condition retaining most of its original finish, looking down the barrel it appears in unfired condition. Very rarely does a pistol of this quality comes on to the market.
