A 16 bore percussion holster pistol built for the East India Government in 1871. The barrel is struck with Birmingham inspectors marks and Tower of London military proof marks, The walnut full-stock is struck with the Birmingham inspectors mark, and the stock-makers marks and the Birmingham E.I.G. storekeepers stamp. The lock is stamped Birmingham 1871 and with a crowned broad arrow above E.I.G. together with a Birmingham inspectors stamp. The pistol is fitted with regulation brass mounts, a swivel ramrod and lanyard ring.
