An Early Flintlock Holster Pistol by Griffin, London. With browned octagonal to round barrel, stamped with London proofs and Griffins barrel smith mark, engraved tang, lock signed ‘GRIFFIN’ full stocked in walnut, with raised apron around the tang, with engraved brass side-plate, beautiful escutcheon, engraved with what appears to be, ‘5’, foliate engraved long-eared butt cap, trigger guard engraved with a flower head on the bow and acanthus leaf finial, turned brass ramrod pipes and original horn-tipped ramrod with worm.
