English Officers Backsword, Circa 1680. With straight single edged blade, cut with a narrow fuller running along the back edge of the blade and stamped with the blade smiths name ‘H. VINCENT’, the hilt comprising double shell-guard with moulded borders and cast with figures that appear to be soldiers, knuckle guard hooked at the pommel, scrolled side bars (some repairs) the globular pommel decorated in a similar fashion to the guard.
