With sharply tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, cut with deep central fuller running almost the entire length of the blade, the ricasso stamped with blade smiths mark on both sides and engraved "JESUS & MARY" in Italian, iron hilt of flattened bars comprising horizontally recurving quillons with scrolled tips chiselled with foliage against a chiselled back ground, large side-ring chiselled centrally with a foliate design against a chiselled background, inner bifurcated guard with single foliate decorated arm, fig shaped pommel cut with flutes and chiselled with foliage en suite, tang button, with original twisted steel wire grip with silver wire inter laced between Turk’s heads.
