A Superb Double Barrel Flintlock Box-Lock Pistol by Wilkins of Grantham. With round turn-off barrels, decorated with bands of foliate engraving at the muzzles and breeches, numbered ‘2’ and ‘3’, stamped below with Birmingham proofs, signed on an oval surrounded by stands of arms to the left and ‘GRANTHAM’ on an oval surrounded by stands of arms to the right, fitted with a sliding safety that also locks the pan, finely chequered walnut grip with rectangular gold escutcheon engraved with the original owners initials, beautiful quality overall.
