An Italian Snaphaunce Overcoat Pistol, Circa 1750. With swamped octagonal to round barrel, plain tang, flat lock engraved with scrolling foliage, chiselled details on engraved cock and steel, the former chiselled with a mask on the cock retaining bolt, moulded figured full stock, carved with a foliate scroll either side at the rear of the ramrod pipe, brass mounts comprising border engraved side-plate, foliate engraved spurred pommel with chiselled mask cap, trigger guard decorated with scrolling foliage throughout and leaf finial, ramrod pipes engraved en suite, horn tipped wooden rammer with iron worm.
