A Sleepy Pair of Silver Mounted Holster Pistols by Barbar of London. With swamped sighted barrels, signed on a raised central ribs ‘BARBAR LONDON’ decorated with sprays of foliage at the breech and stamped with London proofs and Foreigners marks, foliate engraved tangs cut with a deep sighting grooves, rounded locks, signed BARBAR fitted with sliding safety catches, moulded cocks, full-stocked in walnut with raised mouldings around the locks and foliate mouldings around the tangs, (old repair to one fore-end and at the tail of one of the locks) engraved silver mounts comprising pierced side-plates depicting stands of arms, escutcheons decorated with stands of arms, long-eared butt caps stamped with silver hall-marks, trigger guards with unusual stand of arms finials, silver ramrod pipes and horn tipped ramrods with worms.
