With turn-off barrels arranged in a vertical line and numbered respectively from '3' to '5', border engraved breeches numbered to correspond, action signed between a basket of foliage and a starburst on one side, and engraved 'London' in an oval between a trophy inhabited by a bird and foliage on the other, engraved thumbpiece safety-catch also locking the steel, trigger-guard engraved with a flower-head in a diamond on the bow, and figured flat-sided butt (some wear and light rust patination), private Birmingham proof marks

John Jones and Son are recorded at Whittall Street, Birmingham between 1811 and 1830. They are also recorded as gun wholesalers at 116 Minories, London between 1826 and 1829
