A Scarce Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by Nock, Jover & Green. With belled steel two-stage barrel, engraved ‘HAPPY IS HE THAT ESCAPES ME’ around the muzzle, engraved ‘LONDON’ along the top-flat and struck with Tower of London private proof marks, plain tang, plain lock signed, ‘NOCK, JOVER & GREEN’ full-stocked in walnut, brass mounts comprising border engraved side-plate, decorated with a star burst, long-eared butt cap, border engraved escutcheon, trigger guard decorated with a star-burst on the bow, turned ramrod pipe with replacement ramrod. A fine and rare example.
