A Sabre for a Flank Company Officer by Prosser

A fine British Infantry Officers sabre for either a light or Grenadier company Officer. Gilt copper lion headed pommel and typical P shaped guard, the langets each with a lion head mask, ray skin covered wooden hilt bound with silver wire. Curved, flat undecorated blade with a pronounced yelman in its gilt copper mounted black leather scabbard, the locket engraved on the reverse Prosser, Charing Cross London and the owner’s initials, J.K.P. The scabbard retains its engraved frog stud and both hanging rings.
The hilt retains much of its gilding, the blade is generally in good condition with a few dark spots, the scabbard is in good condition with the gilt copper drag showing signs of service wear.
