A Percussion Duelling Pistol by H.W. Mortimer & Son. With sighted octagonal barrel, engraved ‘GUN MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY’ with case hardened breech block inlet with silver poinçonné stamped ‘MORTIMER FLEET STREET’ slotted tang incorporating back-site, border engraved lock and action, decorated with sprays of foliage and signed, ‘H. W. Mortimer & Son’ in script, half stocked in walnut, cut with c requiring at the grip. Engraved steel mounts comprising profusely engraved oval butt-plate, spurred trigger guard with address within an oval on the bow and pineapple finial, engraved ramrod pipe, with horn-tipped ramrod.
