With round two-stage cannon barrels, breeches engraved with foliage and signed ‘London’ signed rounded actions with moulded border, pans with raised edge with water drain fore, cock and steels each with moulded borders, swelling moulded figured butts carved around the barrel tang and inlaid with silver wire and a silver coat of arms depicting a bird holding a olive branch (possibly the crest of Robert Barclay). Separate steel trigger guards with earn shaped finials (covering the London proofs) and cast and chased silver mounts comprising pierced foliate side-plates and grotesque mask butt-caps (some wear) An interesting pair of early pistols in need of further research.

Isaac Former apprentice of William Maude, gunmaker, Ottley, Yorkshire, allowed to prove guns as a ‘foreigner’ by Gunmakers Co., 1723-31. Fined 10s for employing William Trelawyn illegally as sn apprentice., 1734. Allowed to bind apprentices in Gunmakers Co. from 1744. Gunmaker, Bond Street, 1744.
