With browned octagonal barrels stamped with London proofs at the breech, grooved tangs decorated with foliage, signed, stepped, bevelled locks fitted with sliding safety catches, full stocked in walnut, circular silver escutcheons engraved with a sun coming from behind a cloud and "CLARIOR E TENEBRIS†(from the darkness to light or clarity from obscurity) engraved steel mounts comprising trigger guards engraved with flowers on the bow and pineapple finials and foliate ramrod pipes, retaining horn tipped ramrods one with worm.
