A Good 40 Bore Percussion Duelling Pistol by D. Gass of London. With sighted octagonal barrel signed, ‘D. GASS 42 & 42 OXFORD ST. LONDON’ along the top flat, foliate engraved breech block with double platinum line and platinum plug, foliate engraved tang fitted with standing rear-sight, signed engraved lock, fitted with sliding safety catch and with set-trigger, half-stocked in walnut cut with chequering at the grip with vacant rectangular escutcheon, engraved steel mounts comprising butt cap and trigger guard decorated with foliage on the bow with pineapple finial, with original brass tipped ramrod with worm. A nice example.
