With sighted rifled barrel dated and serial numbered at the breech, retained by a brass barrel band also forming the ramrod-entry and linked to the side-plate, tang with back-sight and etched '1822', steel extension down the back of the butt, flat bevelled lock etched 'Mre Rle de Maubeuge’, figured half-stock, serial numbered, stamped ‘Chatel’ and with circular arsenal mark opposite the lock, regulation brass mounts including rounded pommel with iron suspension ring, and steel ramrod. Retaining a large amount of original colour.
