A Scarce Flintlock Tap Action Pistol by Joseph Egg. With round turn-off barrels decorated with foliate bands at the muzzle and stamped with Birmingham proofs, and also Irish registration marks, ‘D U 876’, engraved ‘No. 1 Piccadilly’ profusely engraved box-lock action, decorated with scrolling foliage throughout and signed, ‘JOSEPH EGG’ within an oval to the left, cock decorated with a serpent, fitted with sliding thumb-piece safety catch, chequered walnut butt with vacant rectangular escutcheon.
