A Flintlock Holster Pistol by T. Jones of London, Circa 1770. With swamped barrel engraved ‘London’ along the top flat and stamped with London proofs and Thomas’ barrel smith mark, tang decorated with a spray of foliage at the base, signed border engraved lock, full stocked in walnut with raised mouldings around the tang and lock, engraved brass furniture comprising long-eared butt-cap, trigger guard decorated with a shell motif on the bow and stylised acanthus leaf finial, turned ramrod pipe, with what appears to be original ramrod (missing worm).

Thomas Son of Thomas apprentice to father, 1746; free of Gunmakers Co., 1760. Gunmaker, ‘At the Cross Guns in Cornhill near ye Royal Exchange’ (trade card of c1760). May have worked earlier at Fenchurch Lane. Continued to use fathers mark, noted on pistol hall-marked 1777.
