A Flintlock Duelling Pistol by Bass of London. With sighted octagonal barrel signed ‘LONDON’ along there top flat, stepped bevelled lock signed ‘BASS’ with sliding safety catch, cock decorated en suite, full-stocked in walnut cut with chequering at the grip, engraved steel trigger guard with pineapple finial, steel ramrod pipes and original horn tipped ramrod with worm.

born in Grantham, Lincolnshire. 1761. In partnership with uncle, John Fox Twigg, as Twigg & Bass, 1788-90; on his own, Carrington St. Piccadilly, 1790; 19 Green Park Row, Piccadilly, 1793-4. Died 1794. Widow, Sarah, closed business in 1795.
