With two stage, octagonal to round barrel with silver spider fore-sight and turned girdle, octagonal breech, stamped with London proofs, decorated with sprays of foliage and signed BARBER NEWARK. Border engraved steel tang decorated with sprays of foliage, border engraved stepped bevelled lock, signed and engraved with foliage at the tail, fitted with a sliding safety catch, figured full stock with raised moulding around the tang and lock, solid silver hallmarked mounts comprising foliate engraved side-plate, escutcheon engraved with owner’s monogram ‘JS’, border engraved spurred pommel decorated with flower heads, flat ovoidal cap, trigger guard with flower head on the bow and with acorn finial, turned ramrod-pipes and silver tipped ramrod.
