A Fine Flintlock Holster Pistol by Heylin of London. With slightly swamped brass barrel, signed, HEYLIN CORNHILL LONDON within a tear-drop and stamped with London proofs and Heylins barrel smith mark, the barrel and tang cut with a sighting groove, tang decorated with scrolling foliage, border engraved lock signed beneath the pan and decorated with flower heads towards the tail of the lock and on the sliding safety catch, cock decorated en suite, full stocked in walnut with raised mouldings around the tang and lock, with engraved brass mounts comprising pierced side-plate depicting a castle and stands of arms, long-eared but cap decorated with a grotesque mask, escutcheon decorated with stands of arms, trigger guard decorated with a flower head on the bow and acanthus leaf finial, turned ramrod pipes and horn tipped ramrod.
