A Cased and Engraved 4th Model Tranters Patent Revolver, retailed by Cogswell & Harrison, London. Serial No. 17360T. With sighted octagonal barrel, Birmingham proofs and engraved, ‘Cogswell & Harrison, 223 & 224 Strand, London’. Border and scroll engraved, blued cylinder, finely chequered walnut butt, with patent loading lever to the left. Complete in original green baize-lined oak case; the lid fitted with flush fitting circular escutcheon, the interior of the lid with Cogswell & Harrison trade label. Accessories include Tranter patent two-cavity bullet mould, nipple wrench, powder flask etc. In excellent condition overall, retaining 95-98% dark blue finish, the case and accessories also in superb condition. A very fine example.
