A Crisp Cased Pair of Percussion Greatcoat Pistols by Barton. With sighted browned barrels engraved, ‘J. Barton London’ in script along the top flats, with single platinum lines at the breeches, foliate engraved tangs also incorporating rear-sights, bevelled stepped locks, converted from flintlock, fitted with sliding safety catches and signed in script, full-stocked in walnut cut with characteristic chequering at the grips, vacant oval escutcheons, blued steel mounts comprising trigger guards decorated with stands of arms on the bows and pineapple finials, turned ramrod pipes and horn tipped ramrods. Retaining large amounts of original finish: in a lined and fitted case with accessories including bullet mould, powder flask and loading rod.
