A Clean 54-Bore Percussion Pocket Pistol by Smith of London, Circa 1840. With octagonal turn-off barrel, decorated with a band of foliage at the muzzle, and signed in script along the top flat, ‘Smith London’, stamped below with Birmingham proofs and ‘240’, foliate engraved steel box-lock action with cock engraved en suite (retaining original finish) deeply chequered walnut butt with oval white metal escutcheon signed ‘JGC’ and a band of foliate engraved white metal at the butt.
