A Cased Colt 1849 Model Pocket Percussion Revolver, No. 48960. With round sighted barrel, stamped ‘ADDRESS SAM COLT NEW YORK CITY’. with five-shot cylinder engraved with the stage coach hold up scene and stamped ‘50013’, the frame is stamped with patent dates and the calibre, brass trigger guard and back-strap with pin and notch hammer sight: in original mahogany case fitted and lined in red velvet with accessories including James Dixon & Sons brass-mounted powder-flask with split-ring for suspension, and steel bullet mould, the exterior of the lid with vacant brass escutcheon.
