A Cased Pair of Continental Duelling Pistols by Blanche of Cherbourg. With sighted swelling barrels, long barrel tangs fitted with folding rear sights, profusely engraved back action locks, signed in gold, half stocked in walnut with swelling butts carved with bands of floral designs at the base with white metal butt caps, white metal barrel bolt escutcheons, and no provision for for ramrods: in original veneered wooden case fitted and lined in green velvet with accessories, including powder flask, mallet etc, the exterior of the box with shield shaped escutcheon engraved with the original owners initials ‘L H’.
