An officer's 1796 light cavalry sabre by Osborn and Gunby. Regulation brass stirrup hilt pierced for a sword knot with rounded langets and some gilding remaining. Single fullered blue and gilt blade engraved with stands of arms, royal coat of arms, George III monogram and maker's mark. Original leather scabbard with copper fittings (originally gilded). In good honest condition.
