A Good Pair of Rifled Percussion Belt Pistols by Hesketh of Barnard Castle. With sighted blued barrels decorated with geometric bands at the muzzles, fitted with captive ramrods and retaining much original colour, signed ‘HESKETH BARNARD CASTLE’ along the top flats, colour hardened breeches engraved with sprays of foliage, box-lock actions profusely decorated in scrolling foliage and fitted with sliding safety catches, cocks decorated en suite, fitted with blued belt hooks, beautifully chequered walnut butts, with vacant rectangular escutcheons, oval butt plates with circular traps, trigger guard decorated with foliage: in their original lined and fitted oak case, with accessories including a fine Hawksley powder flask, bullet mould and loading rod.
