A Percussion Jäger Rifle, Circa 1840.
An Unusual German 25 Bore Percussion Jager Rifle with Spring Bayonet by H. Muller in Mehlis, No. 3, Circa 1840. With swamped octagonal sighted barrel fitted with a spring-bayonet to the side, stamped 3 towards the breech, plain tang stamped with the makers name and also 3, plain lock also stamped No. 3 and fitted with gravitating safety catch, full stocked in walnut cut with a band of chequering at the grip, set triggers, brass mounts comprising butt plate, trigger guard and ramrod pipes, with original brass tipped iron ramrod.
